Located a few hundred meters from downtown Sainte-Maxime, this villa enjoyed a prime location but suffered from an outdoor layout that did not fully showcase its strengths. The pool, situated below the house, felt disconnected from the living areas and limited its potential for everyday use.
The project involved completely rethinking the layout of the outdoor spaces by raising the pool to the level of the house. This was a major technical challenge, as the new pool was built on stilts to blend seamlessly with the existing terrace. The terrace was also completely renovated and retiled to create a harmonious, elegant, and functional whole.
The space freed up below allowed for the creation of new gathering places, including a pétanque court and a basketball court, providing genuine recreational spaces for the whole family.
The entrance to the property has also undergone a complete transformation with the creation of a landscaped path paved with Portuguese cobblestones. This new design now frames the villa’s surroundings while adding charm, character, and elegance to a space that had previously been underutilized.
For this project, Maison Courcot handled the overall coordination, from selecting contractors to managing the various trades, as well as negotiating and overseeing the construction work. The plans were designed by architect Arthur Froger.
